Just added to the members' section: 30 pics from a custom video I'm working on
that will eventually be a feature-length DVD. In this scene, I am barefoot and hogtied

i finally got home late Saturday night. i regrettably had to cancel my last shoot because i was too exhausted to do it. i hate canceling, but i don't feel right about wasting someone's time and money especially when they're trying to do something artistic.

Losing my external drive has really set me back. I took it to a data recovery place yesterday. i hope they can get my files off it, i am really bad about backing things up. I would hate to have to re-edit all the clips on there, plus there's a set from "Lesbian Fantasies" that I'm pretty certain Abigail Productions will want when it comes time to put it out. I shoot the last scene for it this weekend!

We're re-doing the cover art for "Lesbian Love, Vol 2", so that title has been a bit delayed... I'll post the new artwork once it's done. I felt (and they finally agreed) that the cover didn't represent the movie. It was more girl-girl than the intimate and beautiful lesbian movie I had made. It makes me happy that they're re-doing it because people who liked that cover would have hated the movie; they would have had a different set of expectations, and people who would have liked that movie wouldn't have bought it because of the cover. One of the frustrating things about directing for other people is the lack of control over the final product, it's rewarding when a company respects my opinion enough to take note. Then again, my arguments were valid and i backed them up with more than "i really hate it" :)

"Julie Simone, Bondage Legend" has sold more copies in its first month than any of my videos, which is pretty cool. Sometimes I think people are tired of seeing me, I've been at this for 11 years now, so it's nice to see that I still have a fan base. I've been really inspired lately and am anxious to start new projects after I get back from my Phoenix and Ca trips. In addition to the sexanddominance site, I have a custom vid with me as the bondage bottom and a feature I wrote years ago called "Erasing Julie Simone".

Things are moving along with my Glamour Site, which katharinakatt has been designing. i'm finally joining the rest of the world and will be using a CMS for that site. converting the JulieSimone.com site will be too much of a headache since it's so huge, but all my new sites will have CMSs, hopefully making it easier to expand and do all the projects i've been wanting to do. i own several domain names, it's frustrating to me when they come up for renewal and they still lie dormant. my man has been re-tagging content for me, which has been a HUGE help. It's so nice to finally have someone who wants to make my life easier, rather than bitching at me all the time and adding to my stress.

Back to work

tomorrow is my last shoot on this road trip. it's been a good trip, but i definitely packed too much into it. i haven't had a single day off since i left almost 2 weeks ago. i didn't shoot today, but i drove from Boston to Roanoke, Va so that technically counts as working, even though i wasn't naked or tied up for any of it.

though i'm still a little self-conscious about my new hair and whether it makes me look like a soccer mom, i am loving bondage so much more now that my hair isn't constantly being pulled. i like my hair being pulled at the nape of the neck, i cannot stand it being pulled from the ends. it's one of those pains that produces a violent reaction in me. when i have done bondage shoots in the past, i spend most of the shoot being annoyed as my hair gets caught in everything -ropes, gags, tape, etc over and over again. now i can sit back, not have to be tense while anticipating annoying pain and just enjoy. it's a welcome change.

another way this trip has been good is i've been getting all kinds of twisted ideas including what i want to do with a domain i bought 2 years ago, www.sexanddominance.com. i'm pretty excited about this. while i would say i am a lifestyle player in thought, i don't get to play as much in my real life as i would like. typically any play has been at parties, shoots or clubs and the Doms i like and respect typically have partners/wives/girlfriends and i'm not cool with that. it doesn't matter to me what their arrangement is, it's not going to work for me. i want my Dom all to myself. i've been seeing a new guy and we're talking about making the site a documentation of our journey/exploration of bdsm sex as a couple. he's never done anything like this and i'm willing to teach him. since i'm a switch, it'll be fun to show him how it's done, then be on the receiving end of it. having a lover to dominate me is something i've wanted for a really long time. being able to train my dominant is going to be an interesting experiment. stay tuned...

i saw a really weird movie the other day, "Hard Luck". the torture scenes are reminiscent of "Saw", but far less gruesome. Overall the movie wasn't that good, it was long and strange, but the strange scenes are memorable.

Cybil Shepard has to be pushing 60, how does she look so good?! Her serial killer outfit of a black 50s housewife dress covered with a plastic apron with detailing that made it look like something a doll would wear and a clear plastic mask with make-up painted on it was fantastic. i used one of those masks in "Dolly Dreams" and in my "Evil Mannequin" stage shows. Something about them is so deliciously creepy.

I've been contemplating using one in Vicious Vixxxens 6 in the nightmare scene... The cast for that is set, btw. We're filming it at the end of May. I'm really really excited about the line-up : SUMMER CUMMINGS!! , Ariel X, and me. I love Summer, she's fantastic and so much fun to work with. This is going to be the first video I shoot in high-def, so it's going to look amazing. Lots to look forward to!
