Animal Rescue Site
a friend of mine put this site up. this is an issue about which i am passionate. my mom rescues a lot of animals and either finds homes for them or takes them in herself.

Its a wonderful thing to have the ability to help.

We have a nice place with 20 acres and a barn. We always took in animals that others could no longer take care of.

Until.....

we had a dying horse ( and 7 others in good health) and we were keeping it on our property in its last days. We enjoyed a visit from the gun toting idiot sheriff deputy (sent by an anonymous concerned 'friend') trying to accuse us of cruelty because the horse was losing weight on 20 acres of green pasture.

I am a big fan of folks who take good care of their animals.
We were essentially the 'hospice' home for this beautiful appaloosa.

I am skeptical now of all accusations by law enforcement investigators in all manner of issues, including this one.
Its why I get involved in the political campaigns of judges and congressmen and senators. trying to be sure they have reasonable, seasoned judgement.

Nice site.
Good heart and spirit.
Good people.

That's a very nice thing to do, of course. It's depressing learning how some people treat their pets.

There are also rescue organizations for little guys, like bunnies and guinea pigs. (Guinea pigs are nice, friendly little guys. Perfect for someone who would go nuts if pets were constantly running around underfoot.) It's hard enough with cats, dogs, horses, and then so many people look at little pets as being totally disposable. It's very sad. Some people apparently get bunnies to hand out as Easter gifts -- forgetting, of course, that the little guy needs to be tended for the next several years. That's just stupid.

There is never going to be any test or license needed for pets (or children, for that matter). But I do think that it should be legal to go up to someone who is stupidly mean to their pets and just punch 'em.
